About Fleur.

Although born and raised in The Netherlands, she has been living in Barcelona, Spain, for the past thirty some years.
She started writing about her journey through grief, as a healing therapy, after the sudden death of her husband. But she soon discovered how Western society is totally unprepared for death. She was amazed by the little understanding that widowed men and women, in general, receive.
Most people feel uncomfortable to be around a person that has just suffered an important loss. Not because they do not care, but for the simple reason that they do not know what to say or how to behave.
And when you first become a widow, you have no idea of what to expect either. Your whole life has just turned around, sometimes without as much as a warning. And there is no one who explains what you are about to encounter.
She truly hopes that her book “WITHOUT GOODBYE” will give some inside and understanding to both the widowed as to their family and friends.
It has become her personal quest to achieve a better acceptance and integration of death and the bereaved in modern life, always defending that there is no time limit in grief.
For grief is all about adjusting, it is a journey of healing and hope into the unknown.
